Trauma creates change you DON'T choose. Healing is about creating change you DO choose.
Professional: I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and have been working supporting youth (16+)), adults and families with Mental Health Challenges and concerns with substance use since 2005. I finished an addiction counselling certificate in 2009 and work from a harm reduction perspective. I also was trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) from Behavioural Tech and have been supporting people from this modality since 2014. I have training in other modalities including Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, CBT and bring a trauma informed lens to all of my work. I have dedicated time to work within the LGBTQ community and support people through questions of gender and sexuality. I have worked with folks with complex mental health challenges including; anxiety, depression, PTSD, BPD, dissociation, self harm, suicide ideation. I use a variety of methods and trauma informed therapies with clients.
I have personal lived experience with mental health challenges and my own recovery journey informs my client centred strength based approach. I identify as non binary and queer and use pronouns they/them/their.
What to expect
Both on our phone consult and intial appointment we will explore what it is you want to work on, what your goals are and what modality would be the best fit. If you are not too sure yet what that might be, we can do that together to see how I support you to make the changes you would like to see in your life. This is always trauma-informed. We will be on this journey together and I honour that you are the expert in your own life, experience and story.
I charge $110 per hour and offer a 15 min free phone call consult. Some insurance companies cover RP’s, if yours doesn’t lets talk about options.
I work out of a holistic health clinic at Christie and Bloor on the subway line in the west end of Toronto.
