About Me
Professional: I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and have been working supporting youth (16+)), adults and families with Mental Health Challenges and concerns with substance use since 2005. I finished an addiction counselling certificate in 2009 and work from a harm reduction perspective. I also was trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) from Behavioural Tech and have been supporting people from this modality since 2014. I have training in other modalities including Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, CBT and bring a trauma informed lens to all of my work. I have dedicated time to work within the LGBTQ community and support people through questions of gender and sexuality. I have worked with folks with complex mental health challenges including; anxiety, depression, PTSD, BPD, dissociation, self harm, suicide ideation. I use a variety of methods and trauma informed therapies with clients.
Personal:
I have personal lived experience with mental health challenges and my own recovery journey informs my client centred strength based approach. I identify as non binary and queer and use pronouns they/them/their.
